The grinding roll sandblasting machine processes smooth grinding rolls to achieve a desired surface roughness. This uniform and controllable roughness enhances the grinding performance of the rolls.
The machine features an enclosed sandblasting chamber with an openable access door equipped with a transparent viewing window;the bottom of the chamber consists of two material storage hoppers. An extraction system—comprising a centrifugal fan and a dust collector—maintains negative pressure within the chamber and removes fine sand and dust particles that cannot be recycled. The grinding roll is driven by a motor via a speed reducer and a belt drive. To increase efficiency, the machine is equipped with two blast nozzles. Two sand intake ports are located at the discharge outlets of the storage hoppers, and the nozzles spray abrasive media onto the roll surface from directly above. The nozzles are mounted on the machine frame via dual cylindrical guide rails, with their reciprocating motion driven by a motor using a steel cable mechanism.
To ensure uniform and controllable roughness, the grinding roll is subjected to the abrasive action of two blast guns simultaneously. The roll's rotational speed and the horizontal feed rate of the blast nozzles can be adjusted to achieve the specific surface roughness required. The resulting rolls possess a uniform, controllable surface texture and roughness, leading to improved grinding performance.
Spent abrasive media and dust are extracted from the chamber and filtered through a compact dust collector equipped with a top-mounted fan;the waste is then collected within the unit to ensure a safe working environment.
The machine offers two operating modes—"Adjustment"and"Automatic"—selectable via a switch on the control panel. In Adjustment mode,push-buttons allow for the manual"jogging"of nozzle movement(left/right)and roll rotation. In Automatic mode, pressing the"Start"button initiates the automatic operation cycle, while pressing the"Stop"button halts operations.Additionally,an emergency stop button is provided;pressing it immediately halts the machine regardless of the operating mode.A counter is included to track the number of nozzle reciprocation cycles.By independently adjusting the output frequencies of the two variable-frequency drives, the movement speed of the spray nozzle and the rotational speed of the grinding roller can be continuously varied. The sandblasting chamber is equipped with a light;switching it on allows for the observation of the machine's operation.Additionally, the chamber door features an interlock switch that cuts off both the power and air supply when the door is opened.
